   I am out to see Red Light Company open for Editors at Alexander Palace.   We manage to get a parking place pretty close and walk swiftly to the main hall.   We have only missed a couple of number by the time we reach the front.    I can barely remember seeing Red Light Company back at the Premises rehearsal room when we signed them.   I thought they were a bit like Deus then, very European.    I recall the singer being rather slim.   Big understatement.   He is the Thin White Duke, actually he is somewhere between Mick Ronson and Ziggy Stardust.   To his right the bass player, half American, half Japanese is wholly ambiguous.   He has a sharp bob and is wearing his black top off his shoulder.   This is fantastic.   We haven’t had a sexually ambiguous band since Suede in 1993.    They have some great  songs, “Meccano” “Arts and Craft” and “Scheme Eugene” enough to make it all work.    Certainly the crowd seem to get it.
